Shire Music Theatre (formerly The Sutherland Shire Light Opera Company) has a long history in the Shire - over 30 years to be exact. 2004 marked our 30th year in Community Theatre.

Each year we produce between 3 to 4 musical productions. In 2008, Shire Music Theatre is very proud to present Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA in March, followed in August by the hilarious URINETOWN, and finally the upbeat and retro THE WEDDING SINGER in November. We welcome Directors Tim Dennis and Belinda Grenyer, Musical Directors Jennifer Parbery and Jacob Nicholls and Choreographer Lynley Fuller to their SMT debut. Additionally, we run a Concert Series each year, which continues to be extremely popular amongst music lovers. These up-market events vary greatly in style ranging from Cabaret, Classical/Operetta to Broadway Melodies.
